Revised Assessment Plan

2008-2010

Under Development

Revised QEP Assessment Strategy (2008-2010):

The revised QEP assessment strategy also included two measures: Primary and Secondary. As with the original plan, the Primary measures focuses on the assessment and reporting of QEP performance at the institutional-level using nationally recognized standardized instruments for assessing student engagement and critical thinking. The Secondary measures focuses on the assessment and reporting of QEP performance at the program-level through selected comprehensive examinations representing the University's various academic programs. The plan reporting schedule follows:

  • Fall 2005: Benchmark all QEP Primary & Secondary Assessment Measures

  • Fall 2007: Report Active Learning instructional strategy across all academic programs

  • Fall 2008: Report Problem-Based Learning instructional strategy across all academic programs

  • Fall 2009: Report Collaborative Learning instructional strategy across all academic programs

  • Fall 2010: Report Experiential Learning instructional strategy across all academic programs

  • Fall 2010: Development of the QEP Impact Report

Annual implementation of the targeted instructional strategy (e.g., Active Learning) occurs in the Spring quarter following training of all faculty in the targeted instructional strategy in the Winter quarter. Assessment of the QEP occurs in the Summer quarter of each year, with formal reporting occurring in the Fall quarter of each QEP year.

Toward the end of each Summer quarter, the University's Institutional Researcher assembles all QEP related program-level data, forwarding it to the QEP Project Manager for analysis and reporting. Additionally, Department Chairs survey their respective departmental faculty members for comments on the overall performance of the individual faculty members' implementation plan, compiling into a departmental performance report and sends to the QEP Project Manager for analysis and reporting.

During the Fall quarter, the QEP Project Manager analyzes and formulates the Annual QEP Performance Report and updates the QEP Assessment webpages.

Primary Measures:

The Sullivan University QEP uses two standardized assessments to assess the progress and impact on student engagement and learning. Specifically, the QEP uses the College Student Expectation Questionnaire (CSXQ), College Student Experiences Questionnaire (CSEQ), and Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency (CAAP) instruments.

  • CSXQ (College Student Expectation Questionnaire) (TBD)

  • CSEQ (College Student Experiences Questionnaire) (TBD)

  • CAAP (Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency) (TBD)

Secondary Measures:
